Do you agree homemade barbecue sauce is better than bottled?

My uncle has a habit of buying a lot of things that he does not use often and one of his major spending sprees is on spices. I visit him and help him with chores and in return he lets me partake of his food and spices. Lucky me! He has all the major spices for the kind of barbecue sauce I love to make. (The only ingredient he did not have readily in hand was dried parsley but that was not a setback.) I use other various ingredients and make the kind of sauces my uncle wants the recipes for. I realize bottled sauces are at best seventy percent what a great homemade sauce can be. Do you agree?
